Bronze Assessment - Group 1 (17/5/04)

17th/18th May

On Monday 17th May we all arrived at the school at 8:15 am. Everyone was filled with enthusiasm; we couldn't wait to get on the road! 8:30 arrived no teachers or mini busses I sight! We all started to panic when the first school bus arrived in the bus bays! Eventually the mini busses arrived 2 hrs later!! By this point everyone was raring to go, even the teachers!! Our group set off at point 1 Loch Freuchie. It took us about 3 hrs to finally arrive at camp. We took a few breaks and everyone was dying to get their bags off!!

Our group was first to arrive at camp. We were all so relieved to get there. Straight away we got our tents up and started cooking. By this point we were all really relaxed and enjoying being away from home!! Later on in the evening we all pilled into the one tent and chatted for ages!! After being chased by sheep we all went into our own tents and fell asleep almost straight away.

We all woke up early the next morning raring to go!! We set off about 10 am after packing up! We all felt the walk home easier and we all kept each other going. We had a great laugh on the way home, even joining in with Mr Hands singing at some points!!

We were all really glad at achieving our bronze award. We would highly recommend Duke of Edinburgh to anyone wanting to do it and we're both looking forward to doing silver!!!
