Capers at the Rocky Horror!By Erinne and Ritchie | Friday 7th Nov 2003 12:00 On Thursday the 6th of November an intrepid group of 5th and 6th years, accompanied by a small group of staff, attended the 30th anniversary production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in Glasgow. It was to be a memorable evening and the images shall be etched on our minds for a long time to come. (Men In Tights!!).
The epic night began with questionable attire on Mr Robertsons behalf and props being put to good use.
The trip to Glasgow was made all the more interesting by our accompanying video of Rocky Horror, and our learning the raucious heckling, (can you guess?).
Upon arriving in Glasgow, pupils didn't know what to do as they were promptly disowned by the entourage of teachers. This is partly due to the vast display of fishnets, corsets and suspenders modelled by male and female alike.
Waiting for the performance to begin our party soon filled the bar (soft-drinks only!) and were forcefully removed only when Miss Sorbie had had enough of the creepy guy with the camera (poor Rob). The night wasn't all creepy cameras, however, once in the auditorium we were soon back amongst our own kind.
Throughout the show we put our heckling to good use, and even learned some new ones. The performance itself was excellent as everyone had a great time timewarpin' the night away. note: Mrs Taylor was observed dancing. In the end all had a brilliant, if morally questionable, evening.
The night ended on a fine note in a Stirlingshire service station, where Mrs Millar's shoes raised more than a few glances, while the can-canning fifth years only added to the fun.
Hope everyone had a great night. |
