In preparation for Curriculum for Excellence the major new initiative in Scottish education, an extra INSET day for teachers is planned for Tuesday 21st April 2009. In practice in Perth and Kinross , this means that there will be two closure days immediately after the Easter holidays, namely Monday20th april and Tuesday 21st April.

It is also likely that the second day of the new term in august will be designated as a Closure day which would mean that Monday 17th august and Tuesday 18th august would both be Closure days.
