DofE 2013... starts here!
The first meetings for DofE participants will take place this week. Check the bulletin for details.
But remember its YOURS. You have to make it happen.
First thing to do is go to the Award website www.dofe.org
This is the best place to start http://www.dofe.org/en/content/cms/doing-your-dofe/activities-sections/
Work out what you want to do for the skill, physical and volunteering sections. Think of someone who could be your assessors and chat to them about what is involved. There are helpful cards in the logbook pack that you can give to your assessors. Logbooks are available from Mhari Watson in G25. Bronze and Silver cost £14, Gold books are £20
Expedition places cannot be guaranteed due to staffing constraints. When expedition places are oversubscribed they are given to the people who have shown the most effort in the other 3 sections. (For places on Silver / Gold expeditions preference is given to people who have also completed bronze or silver awards)
Logbooks must be handed in by 1st March so that we can allocate expedition places fairly. So get your logbook filled in as much as you can by then!
Silver and Gold groups also need to
