World Maths DayBy vneilson | Sunday 2nd Mar 2008 18:05Wednesday 5th March is World Maths Day. Perth High School will be part of a global celebration of numbers as children from across the world unite in their quest to set a world record in answering mental arithmetic questions!
The World Maths Day challenge involves students from all over the world playing against each other in real-time battles of mental arithmetic.
The aim is to break 50 million questions over the challenge - a big task!! Pupils are practicing already and enjoying the challenge. We will be encouraging pupils to take part in the challenge on 5 March, making use of ‘Classroom in a Box’ and the library, as well as computers in our classrooms. Pupils can also compete at home on www.worldmathsday.com Each game lasts 60 seconds! Good luck to all those who participate! |
